“Shift Your View” responds to Brief 4 - Death of the Centre - of the 2024 ISTD’s annual competition, celebrating the heart of Bristol, Broadmead, through typography.

Broadmead, rich in history, awaits rediscovery and revitalisation. The publication
embodies a physical and spiritual transformation of the city. The book progresses from traditional content, delving into Bristol’s history with limited colour, rigid typography, and archival photographs. It transitions to present-day Broadmead, featuring original imagery and interviews, and ultimately envisions its restoration to former glory throughvibrant colours and playful typography.
The book aims to shift readers’ perspectives from seeing Broadmead as a dying high street to recognising the unique character and potential it holds, to change and educate the reader’s view of Broadmead towards a positive mindset by looking at its own brilliance.
